1976年に発売されたスティーブ・グッドマンのアルバムに収録されているこの曲も、また、2年遅れの78年にアメリカで創業した「バナナ・リパブリック」もそのモチーフは、「バナナ共和国」ということばだろうと思います。

ただ、このbananaという語は、それだけで「白人よりの黄色人種」を指したり、go bananasとなれば「ちょっと気がふれる」という意味になり、公式の席では使用が憚られるかもしれません。

ということは、バナナ共和国ということばも、躊躇しながら見えない敵と戦いながら口から出したほうがいいのかもしれません。
