ジェリー・ゴフィン(Gerry Goffin: 1939-2014)が詞、バリー・ゴールドバーグ(Barry Goldberg: 1942-)が曲を担当して作られたのが、It’s Not The Spotlight（それはあのスポットライトというものではありません）という歌です。

ジェリーは20歳の時、17歳のキャロル・クライン(Carol Klein: 1942-)という女性と結婚し、ジェリーが詞をキャロルが曲を担当し、数々のヒット曲を作り出します。「ザ・ロコモーション」とか「ウイル・ユー・ラブ・ミー・トゥモロー」などが有名なものだと思います。

一方、バリーは1960年代、ボブ・ディラン(Bob Dylan: 1941-)のサポートメンバーになったり、エレクトリック・フラッグ（The Electric Flag）というバンドを組んだり、21世紀に入るとスティーブン・スティルス(Stephen Stills: 1945-)から誘われてザ・ライズ(The Rides)のキーボード奏者として活躍しています。
