西部劇がテレビから入ってきた時代のことです。縄を持ち出しては投げ縄の練習をしている子供がいました。私自身はそれほどやらなかったのですが、好きな人にはたまらなかったようです。

的は飼っている犬とかそこらへんの木の枝とかです。悪がきになると、動く人が的になります。優しい的は、自ら入ってあげます。

うまくできているなあ、と妙に感心した記憶もあります。

この歌に出てくるhoulihanとは、そうした投げ縄のひとつで、しかも、「輪をもって頭の上で右方向に一回くるっと回転させて、標的の方向に．．．」という投げ方だそうです。

アメリカで縄の投げ方に一単語が使われているということは、モンゴルだとどうなんだろうという疑問がわいてきます。
