アイルランドといえば、酒です。これは欠かせません。この歌に出てくる中年女性と思しきダイシー・ライリーも酒が大好きです。飲むにはお金が必要です。まず、朝起きたら質屋さんに行ってお金にしてから、昼過ぎにお店に入ります。

なぜ、こうもお酒は人を引き付けるのでしょうか。体質的にあまり受け付けない私でも、今まで一度も酔っぱらうという体験ができない私でも、疑問に思ってしまいます。
