マイク・ダボの作品の中でも特にお気に入りの曲です。A&Mレーベルから発売された「ダウン・アット・レーチェルズ・プレース(Down At Rachel’s Place)」というタイトルのLPに収録されているのですが、全9曲中一番好きな曲です。

思い切っていけばいいのに、他人に対してならばそう思えるのですが、自分となるとそう簡単にはいきません。何かが邪魔をしているのです。何かといっても何かは分かりません。

プライドを捨てて勇気をもってちょっと前に進むだけでいいんだ、と言われても、「何か」に「行かないで」と言われているような気がして、行けないのです。

言い訳です。
